Cod Liver Oil
Taking Cod Liver Oil is one of those easy things you can do to stay well. CLO is rich in the “anti-infective vitamin” vitamin A, and also vitamins D and K. If you want to include these in your diet, CLO is the way to go! The body always prefers to get its vitamins from food sources, and can only use them when they are with what I call their “synergists” or partners. (Don’t take a D3 supplement; take CLO!!!)
My body prefers fermented cod liver oil with high vitamin butter oil from Green Pastures. Those with histamine intolerance sometimes do better with cod liver oil that is not fermented. When that is the case, I suggest Rosita brand liquid or capsules. It is always best to take CLO with high vitamin butter oil, or pasture raised ghee.

Tallow for Skin
I always say, “only put things on your skin if you would put it in your mouth!” Tallow-yes, fat from beef (or bison or lamb)- is FABULOUS for your skin. Incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. Probiotics

The BEST probiotics will be those that you make yourself in your own kitchen: homemade sauerkraut, kimchee or pickles, beet kvass or kombucha! However, sometimes it is helpful for folks to take a probiotic in a pill form. (When very sick and one couldn’t eat enough kraut in a short enough time, or perhaps if one has very strong histamine reactions.) Here are some that meet the requirements that Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride suggests in her book, Gut and Psychology Syndrome: 1. multiple species 2. mixture of strains (lactobacilli, bifidobacteria, and soil bacteria) 3. at least 8 billion bacterial cells per 100 mg 4. manufacturer should test every batch for strength and composition.
It is a good idea to vary them or mix them up!

I like to say that ION* Biome is like the “missing link”, or missing piece. We can eat nourishing, healthy foods that are prepared correctly.
